OVER 80 SINGLES TOURNAMENT
October 10-11 & 13-14, 2016

PlaceholderThe Over 80 Singles Tournament is one of several Sun City Lawn Bowls Club annual events. It is open to any club member who is or becomes 80 years old anytime in the current year. Recent winners can be found in the Champions link in the main menu.

The tournament is played over a 4-day period, beginning Monday and ending Friday. In 2016, the event begins on Monday and provides a day of rest (Wednesday). The Tournament Director posts a sign-up sheet at the club "shack" prior to the event. The event was ten ends with three bowls per end.

Day 1 - All contestants play - they are matched by random draw.
Day 2 - All contestants play - matches are determined by the day 1 draw.
Day 3 - The four contestants with the highest standing play:
 
Day 4 - The two contestants who win on Day 3 compete for the title.

The Champion and Runner-Up each receive a medal.

The following point scoring system exists for this event:

Wins - The number of matches the player has won.
Ties - The number of matches that ended with both contestants scoring the same number of points.
Plus Points - The numerical point difference in the final score of a match. This number is limited to 10 for any match.
